LIFE’S LESSONS LEARNED THROUGH GOLF

by Pat Lange, LPGA Life/Master

  1. Keeping score isn’t always important.
  2. The best shots are effortless.
  3. Try to keep a good grip on things.
  4. Have someone else carry the heavy stuff.
  5. There are different strokes for different folks.
  6. There’s a time and a place for plaid pants and madras shirts.
  7. If you keep swinging, you eventually hit something.
  8. Good form always prevails.
  9. A powerful drive is a key to success.
  10. Follow-through counts.
  11. It is better to have golfed and lost than never to have golfed at all.
  12. Using the right tools makes a difference.
  13. Form follows function.
  14. If you keep your head down you’ll miss a lot.
  15. There are very few women who do anything in moderation.
  16. Only keep the stuff you use.
  17. Never assume.
  18. What’s good for the goose isn’t always good for the gander.
  19. Don’t pay $10.98 for something that only cost a buck and a quarter.

P.S. A non-golf lesson but nonetheless a life lesson that’s one of my all time favorites:

20. “Never eat more than you can lift” —Miss Piggy
