By-laws and Rules of SWING

Our Mission...
SWING provides fun, organized, non-competitive golf events for women with various playing abilities at different golf courses throughout Eastern Massachusetts, Southern New Hampshire, and Rhode Island.

  • If a SWING event is limited to a specific number of golfers, participation will be based on a FIRST PAY, FIRST PLAY basis.
  • Send your money in by the deadline (Ten days before event) to participate.
  • You may cancel anytime before the deadline for a full refund.
  • There are NO refunds after the deadline for an event you have booked. Insufficient fund checks will suspend membership until a $25 accounting fee is paid to the chapter president.
  • BAD WEATHER POLICY: In most cases if the course is open to play we are liable to pay for all tee times booked. If the golf course is closed due to bad weather, the course may choose to give each golfer a credit for a round of golf. Otherwise, your money will be refunded or left on your SWING account for the next event you can participate in.
  • If the rained-out event is rescheduled and you cannot attend, you will receive a credit on your account or you can request a refund.
  • Exact tee time for an event will be listed on a members only web page the Thursday morning before the event.
  • Please arrive at least 30 minutes before your scheduled tee time to avoid last minute shifting of foursomes.
  • If something prohibits you from attending on the day of the event and you CAN NOT attend, please call the golf course and tell them to let me know you will not be there.
  • To become a member of SWING you must be BORN female.
  • MEMBER GUEST POLICY - A member of SWING can register a non member guest to any ONE event for a Guest fee of $5.00.
  • A GUEST MAY ONLY ATTEND ONE EVENT!! If after that one event the guest wishes to join SWING the $5 guest fee will be deducted from the membership fee.
  • Members of SWING may bring as many different guests to SWING events as they wish.
SWING RULES
  • HAVE FUN! We want everyone to have a great time at all SWING events.
  • If you are a beginner we ask you to please use the 2 times par rule. For example, on a par 4 hole you must take an 8. If you haven’t sunk your ball into the cup by the 7th stroke, pick up the ball and take an 8. Speed of play is important.
  • To make the day more enjoyable for everyone we ask that you always keep the group in front of you in sight.
  • If your group is falling behind we have instructed the ranger to ask your group to skip a hole and pick up speed of play.
  • Watch where everyone (in your foursome) hits their ball. (This will reduce the time lost in hunting for misplaced balls.)
  • Know the basic rules of golf. Purchase a USGA Rules book and know the basics. Keep the book in your bag for reference.
  • Be prepared and ready to play when it’s your turn. Practice golf etiquette.
  • Have consideration for golfers in adjoining fairways out on the course.
  • Remain silent when others anywhere near you are hitting their ball.
  • Replace your divots.
  • Repair ball marks on the green.
  • Rake footprints and marks made in sand traps.
  • Keep bags and pull carts in designated areas.
  • Keep motorized carts in designated areas.
  • Maintain a constant steady pace of play
  • Do not bring alcohol to any events.
  • If a problem occurs during an event, please bring it to the attention of the organizers of that event.
