Boca Raton Beach Club

Golf and Spa Like No Other!

by Mary E. Porter
Editor

Boca Raton Beach Club is an ocean-inspired family resort with a private half-mile stretch of powdery white sand beach along the Atlantic coast of Florida. Behind the Boca Beach Club is the Intercoastal Waterway and just on the other side of the waterway lies the main Boca Raton Resort and Golf Course. For guests’ convenience, a shuttle van circles every 15 minutes, transporting guests from the Boca Beach Club to the Boca Raton Resort and their two golf courses.

My suite at the Beach Club was on the fourth floor and overlooked the Atlantic Ocean. The two-room suite was elegant- a king-sized bed, two bathrooms and bedroom double-doors that opened to the living and dining area. A basket of fresh fruit welcomed my arrival and the adventures of the next three days. Two large swimming pools lay below my balcony, one just for adults and one for children. The area below buzzed with vacationing guests, and the beach just beyond sported cabanas for guests to shade themselves from the afternoon sun. Cabana boys scurried from guest to guest, offering cool beverages and snacks.

As my tee time approached, the sky darkened and a storm rolled in. My chance to play golf slipped away. Disappointed, I booked an afternoon at Spa Palazzo, the resort’s award-winning spa and salon. Spa Palazzo features 44 distinct treatment rooms, relaxation areas, and a full list of services. I spent the next three hours in heaven. The Palazzo Ritual Bath was the perfect way to begin my afternoon of pampering. Thirty minutes later, I was escorted to my massage room where I enjoyed a classic, light-touch Swedish and therapeutic Deep Tissue Massage. Pure pleasure!! Feeling relaxed and ready for a nap, my next treatment at the Spa was my facial. When finished I rolled off the table feeling like jello and returned to my room to relax for an hour before dinner.

The dining options were numerous with a dozen restaurants in the resort to choose from. I stopped searching when I found Morimoto, an upscale sushi bar which featured an exquisite menu of traditional and unusual Japanese dishes. I sat at the bar so that I could watch the Japanese chef prepare my choices for dinner. After devouring every morsel I knew that I would return for another meal before heading home. The Morimoto offered the best sushi I have ever devoured and I highly recommend a visit there.

The next morning the weather cooperated for a round of golf on the Boca Resort course.

This beautifully laid out par-71 course plays 6,253 yards and offers a variety of elevation changes, making the round quite interesting. There are over 10 acres of water throughout the 18 holes, making target golf a necessity. The course is dedicated to Tommy Armour and Sam Snead, who worked at the resort from 1926 to 1955, and 1956 to 1969, respectively. The layout of the course was enhanced by the beautiful landscaping of flowers and shrubs throughout. Colorful, fragrant, and eye-pleasing.

At the Boca Beach Club there is no need to travel outside the resort. With over 10 dining choices, you can eat lightly or have a full course meal, you can eat by the pool at the Beaches Cafe or overlook the Atlantic coast on the 27th floor of the Ceilo Restaurant. The Ceilo offers a fine dining experience with an Italian flair. Indulge in a three-course dinner, or opt for a decadent dessert.

For an unforgettable and delightful vacation, consider this Florida destination that offers two challenging golf courses and a spa that is truly first class.
